Little Boy

Dear Friends,
This poem was originally without a title and I found it next to a Sunday page in my diary.

"There was a little boy once,
joyful and full of life,
carried in him a million of dreams,
raised and cherished as a big green leaf.

One day he heard a knock at his door,
his heart was thumping,
'çoz it was the day he turned four.
He saw his dad standing,
empty hands were low down hanging,
and there was no box to unwrap.
He felt a sharp needle,
piercing his heart that was idle,
he felt an urge to cry, run and hide
'coz dad must have had a rough day
or why else would he forget his b'day?

Y'day he turned eleven,
all his friends came but Raven,
a beautiful teen
who went out with some Mr. Bean.
He sat all night by the fire arch,
waiting for darkness to fade in light,
morning came after night had dried his tears,
readying him for all new peers.

Time went on ticking,
One day he turned seventeen,
He's happy silent and somewhat mean.
A girl named Amber
made his heart ponder,
one day with all his courage and heart at 120
explained her the situation
only to be told that she was mistaken.
Two years past he met another Amber.
She seemed really nice and soft
and spent time in tying the knot,
making a bond that felt so strong,
but it wasn't long before he smelled betrayal.
And died his dream of betrothal with Amber.

Now he collects the pieces left apart,
takes 'em and goes to a friend,
asking her to mend it
and walks in the middle of the road,
spread his hands wide to catch some dust,
looks back and forth to find an end.
